Hiring a developer is a leap of faith. These are the four things that go wrong most often — and how I make sure they don't happen to you.
A fixed price, agreed before we start
You get a written scope and one number. If the work takes longer than I planned, that is my problem to absorb — not a surprise on your invoice.
You own what I build for you
The custom code, the accounts, the data, the repository — all yours. Third-party components stay under their own licences, and I avoid restrictively licensed material unless you ask for it.
Documented so anyone can take over
Working with one developer should never mean being trapped. Everything ships documented and readable, so another developer could pick it up without me.
You talk to the person building it
No account manager relaying messages. When something breaks or changes, you reach the person who wrote the code and can fix it that day.
